A-Level Computer Science

Carries a substantial programming project (NEA). AQA 7517 and OCR H446 are the two available specifications. Pearson Edexcel does not offer a domestic A-Level Computer Science, so this is the one subject where the choice of board is limited to two. Taught on four timetables and entered for the Summer 2027 series. AQA 7517 · OCR H446.

Why Study A-Level Computer Science Here

What comes with the course, rather than what is charged for later.

NEA and Coursework Supervised Properly

Non-exam assessment has to be supervised and authenticated by the centre entering you. We do that work, including the Computer Science programming project, rather than leaving you to find somewhere that will.

Full UCAS Support As Standard

We are a UCAS registered centre, so your application, predicted grades and reference come from us rather than from a school you left. Personal statement work, choices and Clearing are included with every course, not sold as an extra.

Teachers from Russell Group Universities

Every teacher here is a graduate of a Russell Group university and teaches their own subject. You are taught by a specialist who knows the specification and the examiners’ reports, not by a generalist covering four subjects.

Progress Tracked Against a Target

You get a target grade from your diagnostic, then regular marked work measured against it. When the gap is not closing we say so early, while there is still time to change something.

Mock Examinations Under Real Conditions

Timed, invigilated and marked to the board’s mark scheme, with feedback broken down by question rather than a single grade. Sitting a paper properly before the real one is the cheapest improvement available.

Flexible Study Options

Weekends, weekday evenings, one year full time or an Easter intensive. The specification and the papers are identical; what changes is when you are in the building, so the course fits around work, school or another provider.

Where A-Level Computer Science Leads

Programming assessed by project, not only by written paper.

Most Computer Science degrees require Mathematics; a smaller number require Computer Science itself. The programming project is what distinguishes a candidate who can build something.

Our careers advisers work backwards from the course you want, so the subject combination you choose here still fits the entry requirements in two years.

Questions

Questions About A-Level Computer Science

AQA 7517 and OCR H446. Tell us which specification you have already covered and we enter you for the same one, because switching board mid-course changes the content you are assessed on.

£340 a month over ten payments, or £3,060 paid in full, which includes your exam entry for the Summer 2027 series.

If another centre is entering you, the tuition-only price is £303 a month or £2,685 paid in full. Exam entry for this subject is £375 on its own.

The non-exam assessment is supervised and marked here, against the board’s criteria, with the authentication a centre has to provide. A project completed without supervision cannot be accepted.

Yes, on the one-year timetable, and that is the usual route for a resit. Whether it is realistic depends on how much of the specification you have already covered, which is what the free diagnostic measures.
